Yalova Kurtkoy Transmission Line Project Construction Work

Noktasal Proje Mühendislik has successfully completed the “Kurtköy Transmission Line Project Construction Work” carried out to strengthen the drinking water infrastructure of Yalova province. The project aimed to evaluate the water resources in the region in an effective and sustainable way, to modernize the existing infrastructure and to increase the safety of water transmission systems.

Project Objective

The main purpose of the project is to transfer the average 650 l /s flow rate of water to be taken from the source to the treatment plant with the conversion structure built near Kurtköy, and to divert it to the Gökçe Dam reservoir when it is not being transferred to the treatment plant. In this way, while meeting the drinking water needs of the region, efficient use of water resources has been ensured.

A total of TL 106 million 276 thousand 659 was invested in Yalova province by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works between 2003 and 2021 Dec. Within the scope of these investments, the water taken from the Kurtköy Diversion source is delivered to Gökçe Dam via a 7.40 km long transmission line and an additional 13 million m3 of drinking water is provided annually Jul.

Technical Scope

1. Transmission Line

Within the scope of the project, a transmission line has been built that will provide water transmission from the conversion structure to the treatment plant and the Gökçe Dam reservoir. This line has been designed using modern engineering techniques in order to ensure the safe transportation of high-flow water.

2. Water Routing and Energy Breaking Structures

The necessary structures have been built to divert the water that is not transmitted to the treatment plant to the Gökçe Dam reservoir. These structures reduce the energy level of the water and ensure the transmission of water without damaging the dam reservoir.

3. Ventilation Pool

Structures have been built to ensure the transmission of water to the treatment plant ventilation pool. These pools increase the oxygen level of the water and increase the efficiency of the treatment process.

Precautions Taken During the Application

All necessary measures have been taken to prevent damage to the environment during the construction of the project. Protection of existing water resources, uninterrupted transmission of water during construction and environmental regulations have been carried out meticulously.
