Kirikkale Combined Cycle Power Plant Infrastructure Design Work

Dotasal Proje Mühendislik has successfully completed the infrastructure design works of the 927.4 MWe / 960 MWm / 1,663 MWt Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant (DGCCS) project planned within the boundaries of Kırıkkale Province, Yahşihan District, Kılıçlar Town in order to increase the energy supply security of Turkey and support environmentally friendly energy production.

Project Objective

The main objective of the project is to realize the design of all infrastructure systems necessary for the safe, efficient and sustainable operation of the DGCCS, which will be carried out by ACWA Power. In this context, infrastructure solutions have been developed that will maximize the power generation capacity of the power plant, minimize its environmental impacts and comply with international standards.

Technical Scope

1. Power Plant Configuration

The power plant is designed in a 2+1 configuration; this configuration consists of two gas turbines and one steam turbine. Each gas turbine has a power of 309.6 MW and the turbine cycle efficiency value was calculated as 37.23% and the total thermal power was calculated as 1.663 MWt. The power of the steam turbine is 328 MW. With this configuration, the power plant will realize energy production with high efficiency.

2. Infrastructure Design

Within the scope of the infrastructure design studies of the power plant, the following systems were designed:

    Jul Jul Water Supply and Discharge Systems: The water supply and waste water discharge systems required for the cooling and process needs of the power plant have been designed.< / li>
  • Electricity and Energy Distribution Systems: Energy distribution systems to meet the internal needs of the power plant have been designed.< / li>
  • Road and Access Infrastructure: Roads and internal transport routes that will provide access to the power plant have been designed.< / li>
  • Drainage and Rainwater Systems: Drainage systems have been designed to prevent rainwater deposits at the power plant site.< / li>

3. Compliance with International Standards

The project is designed in accordance with the following international standards and requirements:

  • European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Environmental and Social Performance Requirements
  • International Finance Corporation (IFC) Environmental and Social Performance Standards
  • World Bank Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Standards
  • European Investment Bank Environmental and Social Principles and Standards
  • Equatorial Principles
  • Relevant international environmental conventions to which Turkey is a party

Result

Noktasal Proje Mühendislik has successfully completed the infrastructure design works of the KKirikkale Combined Cycle Power Plant Infrastructure Design Work and contributed to Turkey's energy infrastructure. The project is an example in terms of environmental sustainability, technical excellence and compliance with international standards.
